Toure Could Quit Man City, Angered By Clubs Disrespect, Says Agent

Yaya Toures agent says Manchester Citys attempt to mark the midfielders birthday with a tweet was a joke.

The Ivory Coast international got a birthday cake from the Premier League champions and a tweet on turning 31 a week ago.

But Dimitiri Seluk says Toure is very upset the clubs owners failed to acknowledge him personally and threatens the player may leave because of their lack of respect.

None of them shook his hand on his birthday. Its really sick, Seluk said.

Yaya Toure Upset By Man City for Not Acknowledging His Birthday Celebration.

Seluk says the playmaker, who scored 20 goals in Citys title-winning campaign, never expected a present from the clubs wealthy owners on his birthday, when the squad arrived in the United Arab Emirate (UAE) last week to mark their league triumph with a friendly against local side Al Ain.

He got a cake but when it was Roberto Carloss birthday, the president of Anzhi gave him a Bugatti, Seluk told BBC Sport.

I dont expect City to present Yaya with a Bugatti, we only asked that they shook his hand and said we congratulate you. It is the minimum they must do when it is his birthday and the squad is all together.

I hear one newspaper has written that City congratulated him from Twitter but this is a joke. It is better they dont put anything on Twitter if they are not saying anything to him.

The clubs owners ate a 100kg cake after winning the Premier League this season but when they and the players were all together, none of them shook his hand on his birthday. It shows they dont care about him.

Of course Yaya is upset about this. It is his birthday and nobody said anything or shook his hand, so he does not feel comfortable.

If this happened to you as a journalist in the BBC and nobody shakes your hand, you will say bye-bye and go to work for somebody else. It is normal.

Toure signed a four-year contract with City last summer but Seluk, who has represented Toure for more than a decade, insists he could leave if they continue to disrespect him.

He is adamant he is not looking to negotiate an improved contract for Toure, saying: No. Money is not important. He has enough money.

The most important thing is a human relationship and maybe this is his opportunity for Yaya to find that. If City dont respect him, then easy Yaya will leave. No problem.

It is more important he plays for a club that respects him more than having a few thousand pounds added to his salary.

I have spoken to him about leaving and we will see what happens, but, at the moment, Yaya is really upset.

Agugbom, 2008 champion, who lost in the final of the 2013, took advantage of her opponents height as she lobbed the ball continuously which eventually took its toll on Garos-Pam, who made series of unforced errors. The two players were rewarded with the same prize-money as it is in the mens category.

Earlier, Alex Adewale and Remi Basanya were crowned champions in the wheelchair men and women categories.

Super Eagles coach Stephen Keshi has intimated a confidence boost on his team preparing for the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

The 52-year-old expressed satisfaction about the team spirit in the senior national side, adding he is beginning to witness patches of the atmosphere which surrounded the 1994 squad- adjudged best Nigerian team in as many generations- in his current crop.

I am beginning to see a good sign; everything is beginning to fall in place, Keshi told reporters in Lagos on Monday.

It is good that everybody is coming together for the sake of Nigeria. There are elements of the 1994 team in my current team.

Stephen Keshi Gets Confidence Boost on Super Eagles.

The Nigerian coach dubbed big boss captained the 1994 set of Eagles in their debut appearance on the biggest stage in world football, in the wake of winning a second African Cup of Nations (Afcon) title for the West African country in Tunisia.

They impressed with wins against Bulgaria and Greece, before losing narrowly to perennial World Cup opponents, Argentina, on their way to claiming leadership of their group.

Nigeria reached the second round in their first World Cup appearance but were knocked out of the competition with two minutes left to sealing a quarter-finals appearance.

Keshi attributed the 94 Green Eagles success to teamwork and hopes such will be the story of the Brazil World Cup-bound team.

The coach however could not specifically comment on the fitness level of his squad, but dismissed several injury reports concerning some of the players in his 30-man party for this summer tournament.

I know mentally they are ready, but I need to see them again on the field because we have not seen them since we played against Mexico. My goal is to bring joy to Nigerians and to do that we need to work harder, added Keshi, who claimed he had spoken at length with the players and had checked on them to ascertain their fitness level.

Vela: I’ll do things differently at Arsenal if I return

Carlos Vela

Carlos Vela says he’ll do things differently if he’s signed by Arsenal for a second time as speculation continues to grow that Arsene Wenger could takeadvantage of a €4 million buyback clause in the striker’s contract.

The Gunners only sold the Mexican striker to Real Sociedad in the summer of 2012 but with the 25- year-old excelling in San Sebastian it has been suggested he could return to the Emirates at a price considerably below his market value.

Speaking to El Diario Vasco (translated by ESPN.co.uk) Vela touched on the talks between his current and former club:

“We will try and reach an agreement in which we all win, Real [Sociedad], Arsenal and me. We must see what can be done. We will decide what will be myfuture, it is all about finding the best way to be happy.

“I did not have as many chances as Iwanted [at Arsenal] and I had to try something new. If I have to return to London I will do things in a different way.

What happened in the past will not be repeated.” Notching 16 goals last season to finish as top scorer at the Estadio Anoeta, Vela admitted he’s beenpleased with his form.

“[Being topscorer] makes me proud. I do not play for these awards, but I want to say that not just I was happy with my work, the fans were also left satisfied.”

Despite being one of Mexico’s hottest prospects Vela won’t be playing at the World Cup this summer. The player remains in dispute with his country’s football association after his off-field antics a few years back earned him a ban which he’s ever since deemedunfair.{Arseblog}
